The aim of this paper is to carry out a rigorous error analysis for the Strang splitting Laguerre–Hermite/Hermite collocation methods for the time-dependent Gross–Pitaevskii equation (GPE). We derive error estimates for full discretizations of the three-dimensional GPE with cylindrical symmetry by the Strang splitting Laguerre–Hermite collocation method, and for the d-dimensional GPE by the Str...

Recently Triple Collocation (TC) was adopted for soil moisture application. Results from a first application indicated that the method could be useful to estimate global error patterns. Here we test the method with new data sets. The results show that the method is robust and that it allows to derive objective error estimates.

In this article we derive local error estimates for some Petrov-Galerkin methods applied to strongly elliptic equations on smooth curves of the plane. The results, e.g., cover the basic first-kind and second-kind integral equations appearing in the boundary element solution of the potential problem. The discretization model includes the Galerkin method and the collocation method using smoothest...

We present optimal error estimates for spectral Petrov–Galerkin methods and spectral collocation methods for linear fractional ordinary differential equations with initial value on a finite interval. We also develop Laguerre spectral Petrov–Galerkin methods and collocation methods for fractional equations on the half line. Numerical results confirm the error estimates.

In this paper, we derive error estimates for generalized interpolation, in particular collocation, in Sobolev spaces. We employ our estimates to collocation problems using radial basis functions and extend and improve previously known results for elliptic problems. Finally, we use meshless collocation to approximate Lyapunov functions for dynamical systems.

in this article, we study the new streamline diffusion finite element for treating the linear second order hyperbolic initial-boundary value problem. we prove a posteriori $ l^2(l^2)$ and error estimates for this method under minimal regularity hypothesis. test problem of an application of the wave equation in the laser is presented to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the method.

the principal aim of this paper is to serve the numerical solution of an integral-algebraic equation (iae) by using the bernoulli polynomials and the residual correction method. after implementation of our scheme, the main problem would be transformed into a system of algebraic equations such that its solutions are the unknown bernoulli coefficients. thismethod gives an analytic solution when t...

‎in this paper‎, ‎an approach based on statistical spline model (ssm) and collocation method is proposed to solve volterra-fredholm integral equations‎. ‎the set of collocation nodes is chosen so that the points yield minimal error in the nodal polynomials‎. ‎under some standard assumptions‎, ‎we establish the convergence property of this approach‎. ‎numerical results on some problems are given...

We compare Wiener chaos and stochastic collocation methods for linear advectionreaction-diffusion equations with multiplicative white noise. Both methods are constructed based on a recursive multistage algorithm for long-time integration. We derive error estimates for both methods and compare their numerical performance. Numerical results confirm that the recursive multistage stochastic colloca...
